Welcome To Murrayfield version 2 - created 08-11-2008

The ‘Welcome To Murrayfield’ animation started as an idea based on capturing each generation of the famous stadium’s history through the visual styles of the match day programmes. It was hoped that people who see it would remember particular decades by the styles of the programmes and the famous characters who played over the years.

Then it was just a case of deciding how to present it. Gathering all the resources by photographing the match day programmes and drawing on archived photographs, we generated enough material to fill a scrapbook. The idea developed into a history book with a virtual book created and animated in 3D space, mapping each of the programmes to the pages. Overlaying the film strip enabled us to pick out other photography we had obtained and as film archives were uncovered the introduction of famous moments captured on film and video could be incorporated.
